1. Explain how a cow chews cud.
Cow swallows grass quickly, stores it in stomach. Later it brings food back to mouth as cud and chews it slowly, then swallows again.
2. Which special features do carnivores have for eating their food?
- Sharp, pointed teeth to tear meat.
- Strong jaws to crush bones.
3. Differentiate between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.
- Herbivores: Eat only plants. Ex: Cow
- Carnivores: Eat only meat. Ex: Lion
- Omnivores: Eat both plants and meat. Ex: Human
4. How does a frog catch insects?
Frog has a long, sticky tongue. It throws the tongue out fast and sticks the insect to catch it.
5. Explain a food chain with the help of an example.
A food chain shows how energy passes from one living thing to another. It tells us who eats whom. Plants make their own food using sunlight. Animals eat plants or other animals to get energy.
