Question 1. What are the things the child sees on his way to the fair? Why does he lag behind?
Answer: The child sees toys, mustard fields, dragonflies, butterflies, doves, crowds, sweet shops, gulmohar garlands, balloons, a snake charmer and a swing.
He lags behind because he gets fascinated by these things. He stops to look and buy, and his parents keep calling him.
Question 2. At the fair, he wants many things. What are they? Why does he move on without waiting for an answer?
Answer: He wants balloons, toys, gulmohar garlands, sweets, to see the snake charmer, and a swing ride.
He moves on without waiting because he gets distracted by each new thing he sees.
Question 3. When does he realize that he has lost his way? How have his anxiety and insecurity been described?
Answer: He realizes he is lost when he asks for the swing ride but gets no reply. On turning, he finds his parents missing.
His fear is shown by his dry throat, crying "Mother, Father", and running everywhere with tears and a frightened face.
Question 4. Why does the lost child lose interest in the things that he had wanted earlier?
Answer: He loses interest because now he only wants his parents. He is scared and just wants to be with them again.
Question 5. What do you think happens in the end? Does the child find his parents?
Answer: Yes, I think he finds his parents. While the child cries, his parents would also search for him. The gentleman helping him would ask for details and help them reunite.
